Crowding out the "bad"
Do you ever find yourself saying” I am so bad, I just ate all of those chips” or ” I have to eat good today because yesterday I was so bad”. I put “bad” in quotes in the title because food is neither good nor bad, it is simply food. That being said, there are certain foods that provide more fuel for your body and help it perform at it’s peak, while supporting a healthy weight. Fundamentality it is all about creating balance in your life and with your eating habits.
Creating a Healthy Morning Routine
Your alarm sounds off, a sound you dread each morning so you hit the snooze button once maybe twice before dragging yourself out of bed, reaching for your phone as you head down to the coffee maker. Maybe you watch the news or check your email before you are even fully awake. You start reacting to emails, news, kids and works before you even have a moment to think about what kind of day you want to have. This used to be me, I was reacting to whatever came to me in my day like a kid playing dodgeball in gym class. I hated that game.
You Cannot Pour From An Empty Cup
The following is something 100% of my clients have heard me say time and time again. I work with so many amazing people with the majority being female. They are rock star mom’s, kicking ass in the work world, running a household and tending to their families. They make time for everyone, friends, kids, husbands, they even find time to do volunteer work and help those less fortunate. These amazing women would drop anything and everything for the people in their life. The only problem is that they put themselves last or sometimes not on the list at all.
How to get back on track
We have all have had those weekends when our healthy regime takes a back seat and things go off the rails a little bit with eating, drinking and exercise. Maybe its an out of town wedding, a weekend getaway or simply a holiday weekend with friends where fruits, vegetable and your daily exercise is replaced with greasy hots, hamburgers, beer and perhaps a margarita or two. You had a-lot of fun for sure, but when the dust settles and daily life returns it can hit you like….
We are all a little broken.... my story
“We are all broken, that’s how the light gets in” Ernest Hemingway
This quote speaks to many of us as we recall hard times we have been through in our lives. It may bring up pain or discomfort. It may make us want to hide in shame because we have faltered at times in our lives and were less than perfect.
