Sometimes all you need is a new playlist
Sometimes the fastest way to shift your whole day isn’t a big life overhaul—it’s a song.
When your energy feels heavy, distracted, or just… off, a new playlist can create a new current inside you. It can uplift you, motivate you, and help you tune into the kind of energy you want to put out into the world—and receive right back.
When you’re in a rut, your mind starts negotiating with your life
You know that feeling when you’re stuck in a rut and suddenly everything feels up for debate? You start questioning yourself, your path, and your progress—like one “off” day means you’re doing it all wrong.
It can sound like:
Am I doing enough?
Should I be further along by now?
Is this even the right direction?
And at first it seems productive—like you’re “checking in.” But if you’ve ever been there, you know how quickly that check-in can turn into a spiral.
The rabbit hole: self-doubt, comparison, and panic-planning
That spiral can lead straight into self-doubt, self-judgment, and fear. You start comparing yourself to other people, scrolling on social media and asking things like:
Am I working out enough?
Do I need to work harder?
Should I do what “she” is doing?
And here’s the tricky part: the rabbit hole can go on and on. There’s always another metric, another person to compare to, another “maybe I should…” waiting in the wings.
Gentle truth: When you’re in that energy—spinning, tight-chested, urgent—this is not the time to make rash decisions.
Not the time to quit, pivot, overhaul your routine, or rewrite your whole identity because you had a rough week.
Because if you make choices from fear, you’ll usually build a life that feels… like fear. And you deserve better than that.
Sometimes it’s not a “new problem”—it’s an old story resurfacing
Here’s what’s wild: you can do the big reset. You can change the plan, buy the notebook, start the new routine, tell yourself, “This time I’m going to be different.” And for a while, it works.
Then a month or two later, you may be right back to questioning yourself again.
Why? Because often it isn’t your life that’s broken. It’s an old story that resurfaces and starts whispering that you’re not enough, or that you can’t do it, or that you’re behind and everyone else got the secret map except you.
And that’s where I love a little Wizard of Oz wisdom: the answer is already inside you—and you’ve had it all along.
You don’t need to chase external proof that you’re worthy. You need to come back to yourself and remember what you already know.
Create the energy on purpose (yes—like a new playlist)
Think about what music does in your body. A single song can soften your shoulders, open your chest, and remind you, “Oh right. I’m still me.” That’s not silly—that’s science and spirit working together.
So when stress builds, sometimes you need to do the most practical thing possible: turn on music and change the channel of your nervous system. (Grey’s Anatomy did it best, when Meredith and Cristina found themselves in a stressful situation and did not know what to do, they simply turned on music and dance it out.)
Here are a few ways to connect back to yourself and trust your journey:
Reconnect with yourself first. Before you “fix” anything, take a breath and ask: What am I actually feeling? Take a few deep cleansing breaths, put your feet on the earth, go for a walk in nature.
Create a new mantra. Something simple you can repeat when your mind starts sprinting ahead. Try: “I am safe. I am capable. I am guided.”
Remember who you are. You are an amazing bad-ass person—even on the days you don’t feel like one. Go on a rant of all the things you have accomplished and celebrate you for a moment!
Build your ‘greatest hits’ playlist. Make an “I am a rockstar” playlist—songs that anchor you back into confidence, softness, courage, or joy (whatever you want to amplify).
Playlist prompt: Choose 10 songs that make you feel like you’re already living the energy you want—then press play before you start scrolling, comparing, or overthinking.
Let it go. Come back to you. Then let life meet you there.
The takeaway is simple, but powerful: when stress, self-doubt, comparison or fear start running the show, your job isn’t to panic-fix your whole life. Your job is to release the spiral, reconnect to yourself, and choose the energy you want to live in—so abundance has room to come to you.
Ready to make this shift with me:
Make a brand-new playlist (or rename your old one to “Greatest Hits”).
Pick one mantra and repeat it for the next 24 hours.
Let yourself just listen, don't fix anything just be. Listen as your driving, walking , running, dancing, or doing laundry.
Postpone big decisions until you feel grounded again.
Let your decision come from a place of connection, and grounded energy! Trust your path and know you are being supported and guided!
Then notice what changes when you stop wrestling with yourself and start supporting yourself. Stop chasing out of fear, attract out of a place of faith and abundance!! You are amazing, you are a rockstar and everything is unfolding for you at just the right time!
Share your playlist with me! Here is mine to check out!!
Plato famously stated, "Music is a moral law. It gives a soul to the Universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, a charm to sadness, gaiety and life to everything. It is the essence of order, and leads to all that is good and just and beautiful."
